Core Beliefs

At Romans 116 Church, the Word of God is our foundation and final authority.

OUR BAPTISM BELIEF

At Romans 116 Church, we follow the apostolic model of baptism — by full immersion and in the name of Jesus Christ.

Why in Jesus’ Name?
Every baptism recorded in the Book of Acts was done in Jesus’ name, following repentance and belief.

 STATEMENT OF BASIC BELIEF

Key Scriptures:
• Acts 2:38 – “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ…”
• Acts 8:16 – “They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
• Acts 10:48 – “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.”
• Acts 19:5 – “They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

We believe:
• Baptism follows repentance and faith in Jesus
• It is a public declaration of a changed life
• It’s done in Jesus’ name, for the remission of sins
• It represents being buried with Christ and raised into new life
Romans 6:4

 Baptism

Step Into New Life in Jesus

At Romans 116 Church, baptism is more than a ceremony — it’s a powerful act of obedience and a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ.

Baptism symbolizes:

  • Cleansing from sin – leaving the old life behind.

  • New life in Christ – rising to walk in His freedom.

  • Public testimony – boldly declaring Jesus as Lord of your life.

Scripture Foundation:

  • “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” – Acts 2:38

  • “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life.” – Romans 6:4

  • “Then Peter said, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” – Acts 2:38

Faith. Family. Freedom. — It’s not just a church… it’s a movement.

 The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and our final authority for faith and life.

(2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105)

 Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who died for our sins and rose again. Salvation is found in Him alone.

(John 1:1,14; John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ — not by works. Through Him we receive forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope.

(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within believers, empowering them to live holy and bold lives and producing spiritual growth.

(Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22–23; Romans 8:11)

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, make disciples, and impact the world.

(Matthew 28:19–20; Ephesians 4:11–13; Hebrews 10:24–25)

Kingdom Living

We believe every believer is called to live as a Kingdom Citizen — walking in faith, strengthening family, and living in freedom.

(Romans 1:16; Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 3:17)

We stand on truth.

We walk in love.

We live with bold faith.
